Raziel CohenThe Tactical Rabbi

My name is Raziel Cohen. I am an ordained Rabbi, Firearms Instructor, security consultant and YouTube Content Creator with over 30 million YouTube Channel views. In short, I help the average person learn how to better protect and provide for their families safety.

I was born in Los Angeles California to a family of Orthodox Hassidic Jews. Both my parents were immigrants from other countries, having come to the US with successful business. After a while though my father’s business crashed and my parents found themselves on the brink of homelessness.

That is when they realized that no matter how low we may feel we have fallen, no matter how little we think we haven there is always someone with less than us who needs our help. And so my parents founded Global Kindness, a non profit organization dedicated to providing people with the basic necessities for life. Whether it was food and clothes, or money to pay the gas bill or go to a therapist. My parents were there for the community no matter what.

Unfortunately, what often times comes along with homelessness and destitution are challenges such as mental health issues and narcotics abuse. And so by the time I turned 18 there were 14 attempted break ins and two attempted murders on my family that were directly connected to the work they did in the community.

From this I learned the importance behind the saying “Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness”. These interactions propelled me forward to be able to better protect my family. I came to understand the fine line between being a good person and not being taken advantage of.

At the age of 18 I got heavily involved in the world of Gun Ownership and Gun safety on a professional level, traveling across the US, taking various classes from different organizations and companies to build my credentials as best as possible. In 2018 my company became public and I started training community members.

In 2019, after a series of active shootings across the US, including an attack on a local synagogue in Poway, California I realized how many people were trying to market off the tragedies that were happening, and how few actually wanted to help prevent future occurrences.

And so I created a free seminar for the community, no matter your race, religion, ethnicity or status, I just wanted you to come and learn how to be safer and better protect yourself. 130 people showed up to that event, including a reporter for the LA times which I wasn’t aware of at the time.

The next morning I woke up to find myself on the front pages of the LA Times, in an article which dubbed me “The Tactical Rabbi”. This led to further speaking engagements, public interviews, and opportunities to spread the word on t he importance of personal and communal safety.

To this day, I offer firearms training classes for those who are new to gun ownership, to those who are more experienced.

At the end of the day, the goal remains the same as it was when I was growing up. To be there for the community, providing them with the necessities for life. In my life and in my way, that means providing the average person with the knowledge and ability to defend themselves and their families.

My hope is that more people will be able to step up and bridge the gap between the time of incident and the time it takes for the first Responder to arrive. To empower others to step up to defend themselves, their family, and community. To help make the world a better, safer place.
